Wheels for Wells is a division of Compassion Corps, www.compassion-corps.com, a 501c3 non-profit, dedicated to serving those in need in Africa. We reach out to the poorest of the poor in the world. The average person in the countries where we serve lives on less than a dollar a day. Most are poverty and disease stricken. Compassion Corps addresses this need by working to raise funds for their basic necessities as well as for economic development. We help our African field partners to provide many with opportunities for a more promising future.
Over the last few years, Compassion Corps has provided vital aid to the people of Mali, Senegal, Liberia, and Morocco. Because we have personally witnessed the harsh realities Of lack of access to clean water and sanitation, we are compelled to empower the people of these countries to rise above what ails them. The people we have met in our journeys know the saga all too well.
Lack of access to clean drinking water causes sickness and disease. These are preventable aliments. Seeing their stories is not about despair. It’s about discovering hope; together we can rise above and move beyond these conditions. We partner with the local communities, building lasting relationships. Ultimately, we strive to shorten the gap between the privileged and underprivileged.
It is our belief that if the obstacles to health and safety are removed, the people of these nations will begin to thrive and experience life in a more meaningful, productive and pleasant way. Wheels for Wells was developed as a symbol of hope to spread the message.
We have a zealous passion for the cause- to rid African nations of illness, poverty and death due to lack of clean water- and we need people to help us take up the torch! Won’t you come join us?
